Ali Kazimi receives Tax Legend Award at Global Withholding Tax Summit
WTS Hansuke Managing Partner Ali Kazimi has received the Tax Legend Award at the 2026 Global Withholding Tax Summit in London, recognising his longstanding contribution to the withholding tax and wider financial services industry. The award recognises experienced industry practitioners who have made a meaningful contribution to the development of the global withholding tax landscape, drawing on the expertise, perspective and industry knowledge built over the course of their careers.
As part of the Summit, Ali took part in a dedicated ‘Meet the Tax Legend’ session, with RAQUEST’s Mariano Giralt, reflecting on the evolution of the industry, defining moments across his career and the lessons that have shaped his approach to working with financial institutions and market participants.
WTS Hansuke was also represented across a number of technical and regulatory discussions during the Summit.
Neiha Perera, Financial Services Partner at WTS Hansuke, moderated a panel on the latest developments in FATCA and CRS, bringing together perspectives from industry and HMRC on evolving requirements, enforcement trends and compliance considerations.
Ali also joined Roy Zimmerhansl, Capital Markets Partner at WTS Hansuke, for a session examining the tax and regulatory dynamics affecting portfolio investments by sovereign wealth funds, including the considerations shaping cross-border investment structures and portfolio strategy.
Together, these contributions reflected the breadth of WTS Hansuke’s work across financial services tax, regulation and capital markets, as well as the increasingly interconnected tax, regulatory and operational issues facing financial institutions and investors.
Commenting on the award, Ali said:
“I was deeply honoured to receive the Tax Legend Award and to have the opportunity to reflect on my career as part of the Summit.
It is rare that we take the time to look backwards in an industry so focused on what comes next. I particularly valued the opportunity to share some of the perspectives I have developed over the years and, hopefully, contribute something useful to the next generation of professionals shaping the industry.”
The recognition reflects Ali’s extensive experience across tax and financial services, together with his longstanding engagement with the developments shaping international investment and financial markets.
WTS Hansuke advises financial institutions, asset managers and other market participants on complex tax, regulatory and capital markets matters, combining technical expertise with a practical understanding of the commercial and operational environments in which clients operate.
